A New Chapter for WiRE

WiRE is about to embark on a new chapter and we are very excited about it!

The Covid pandemic brought many changes to the country and to our members and networks and WiRE was subsequently affected.

Uncertainly around the after effects of the pandemic also coincided with changes at Harper Adams University and staff changes.

It would have been a shame to see WiRE disappear as we feel that now, more than ever, women in rural businesses, and those thinking of starting one as the main or additional source of income, need our support more than ever.

After previous diversification, and much consideration of a variety of ideas, it was decided that WiRE would go back to it’s original grassroots level.

York based Judy Illing, a former Network Leader and Ambassador, is joining Polly to bring about the changes and we will soon be launching a new membership structure and a new format for network groups. Judy joined WiRE many years ago when it had a presence at Askham Bryan college on the ouskirts of York.

At present we are working behind the scenes to bring all this together and make changes to the website etc. before presenting this to you.

Please sign up for our newsletter so that you will be the first to hear about the “new WiRE”.
