Making the Most of Your WiRE Membership – All Welcome

**TICKETS FOR THIS EVENT MUST BE BOOKED AND PRE-PAID AT  helmtickets.com/events/1542/making-the-most-of-your-wire-membership Deadline to book is 9am Friday May 11.**

As a WiRE member you have access to exclusive ways to promote your business, raise your profile, demonstrate your expertise, find new customers and reach new audiences. In fact, we think your annual investment of £50 membership is hard to beat for value in the business support and networking world!

But not every member is using ALL the features and tools available, so Holly Hinton (a Uttoxeter WiRE leader) and Elaine Pritchard (one of the WiRE Burton leaders) are staging a half-day workshop to make sure you are getting maximum value from being a member of WiRE. It will be open to all WiRE members – whether you are a newbie or an old hand!

Holly will show you:

  • All the benefits available to members through the Google-friendly national website – wireuk.org.
  • How to log on and edit your marketplace profile.
  • How to book events.
  • How to submit news – and have it picked up for the national WiRE e-newseletter.
  • How – and when – to use the noticeboard
  • How, and what, to submit articles to the knowledgebase

Elaine will run a session on writing, helping you to develop confidence and skills. This will help you write news items for the WiREUK website and those skills will also transfer to helping you write press releases, LinkedIn articles, blog posts, newsletters or articles for the trade press.

She will cover:

  • Writing for different channels and media.
  • Finding inspiration for topics.
  • Keeping your audience in mind.
  • Using the ‘reverse pyramid’ to tell your story.
  • What’s your call to action?
  • Beating writer’s block.

There’ll be lots of time for questions too.

Holly and Elaine are volunteering their time to run this workshop, which will start at 10am on Tuesday May 15 at the meeting room at Scropton Riding and Driving Centre, Watery Lane, Scropton, DE65 5PL.

Arrive from 9.30am when you can make a hot drink (an honesty box system operates for hot and cold drinks, chocolate and crisps and profits go to the Scropton Riding for the Disabled charity) and network informally with other delegates from local WiRE groups.

The morning session will end at 1pm when a light lunch will be served and you can continue networking until 2pm.

Lunch is being provided by Scropton small business, Foresters Tea Rooms. It will comprise a selection of filled rolls; assorted quiche with salad garnish and coleslaw; freshly baked fruit scones with jam, butter, clotted cream and strawberries; homemade chocolate brownie and orange or apple juice. Dietary requirements can be specified when you book your ticket via the Helm website.

The £20 cost per person will include the morning training sessions, your lunch and a donation to Scropton Riding for the Disabled for the use of their venue. Teas, coffees and snacks during the morning can be purchased at a small additional cost (honesty box system) from the venue. Online ticketing admin costs will be absorbed by us and any surplus will be divided between the Uttoxeter and Burton WiRE networking groups to support future events.
