Married Allowance – available later this year – register interest now

If your income is less than £10,600 in the 2015 – 2016 tax year, the new Marriage Allowance will let you transfer by some of your Personal Allowance to your partner. Register your interest now to find out.

Countdown to Shared Parental Leave – 5 April 2015

Expectant parents with babies due on or after 5 April 2015 will be able to start sharing 50 weeks of parental leave. Discussions with staff will need to start early to meet the 8 week notification period.

HMRC Tackling Alcohol Fraud – new scheme being introduced

Alcohol wholesalers and trade buyers will need to apply to register for the Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme between 1 October 2015 and 31 December 2015, or be at risk of trading illegally.

Class 2 National Insurance Contributions – payment change

The payment of Self-employed National Insurance Contributions is changing. We will be collecting Class 2 NICs via Self-Assessment for most self-employed people from April 2015.

New Digital Services from HMRC

Pay As You Earn (PAYE) for employees

An online trial has been launched by HMRC, allowing company car drivers to make changes to car and fuel benefits that will affect their tax codes. The new digital service means that PAYE customers will be able to make any changes online, and will no longer have to wait for HMRC to update their tax code.

Digital Self Assessment (SA)

If you are an SA customer your new look tax account will make it easier for you to see what you owe and to make a payment. Over 1.1 million SA customers now receive secure email alerts instead of letters. Personal and tax details are never shown in email reminders. Sign up for paperless SA
