A new chapter opens in 2018 for WiRE’s Burton-on-Trent networking group as it moves to a new venue.
One of WiRE Burton’s three leaders, writer and social media expert Elaine Pritchard, said: “We’ve had two wonderful years at the Brewhouse arts centre and we’ve seen the number of women attending our monthly meetings increase steadily throughout this time.
“In fact, we’ve grown so much that we needed to find a new venue in the town with space to continue growing and we’re delighted to announce that from January 2018 we’ll be meeting at the Holiday Inn Express on the Centrum 100 estate.”
Alan Northern, general manager of the hotel, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the women of Burton’s WiRE group to the Holiday Inn Express and we are delighted that they are making their new home with us. They have done some important work in the past six years helping local women develop skills and confidence and start or grow their businesses.”
The first meeting at the Holiday Inn Express will be on Wednesday January 10, from 7-9pm, when international speaker and trainer Sue Tonks, will speak about The POWER of the Initial Meeting – The Secrets to Building Relationships.
The WiRE Burton leaders, Elaine, Alison Bradley and Lorraine Holden, have also decided to move the monthly networking meetings from the last Wednesday of the month to the second Wednesday of the month.
Alison said: “This will help us to avoid clashing with a number of school holidays throughout the year, so we hope that makes it easier for women who go away with their families at Easter and half terms.”
Lorraine added: “We will continue our tradition of having 10 networking meetings at the hotel, but in August and December we’ll have a social night out at a local restaurant – and raise some money for our 2018 charity of the year, which will be announced shortly.”
WiRE Burton welcomes women who volunteer for charities as well as those running their own business or working for someone else’s venture. It costs just £8 for non-members to visit WiRE Burton, or £5 for members. For more details, and to book a place, go to http://bit.ly/WiREJan2018
