WiRE Burton plans a reunion for its 6th birthday

In October 2017, WiRE Burton will celebrate its 6th birthday and is hoping to reunite the women who attended its first meeting, captured in the image on this page taken by photographer Joanne Cooper.

Joanne is still a WiRE member and a regular at Burton meetings, as is HR specialist and founder member Karen Kirby (pictured seated, front row, far left).

It was Karen who established WiRE Burton in partnership with Joelle Harris (pictured standing far left on second row) who has since moved to Lincolnshire, but is hoping to return for the birthday party networking meeting on October 25, 7pm, at The Brewhouse Arts Centre, Union Street, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

More details about the event, and the names of the women pictured, are in this event listing on the WiRE UK website.

Elaine Pritchard, who is one third of the current WiRE Burton network leadership team with Lorraine Holden and Alison Bradley, said: “We are reaching out to the women pictured and hoping they can come along to share memories and catch-up with current members and find out what everyone is doing these days. We’ll have a big birthday cake, of course, and we all want to thank Joelle and Karen for having the vision to introduce the working women of Burton-on-Trent to WiRE and doing all the hard work of getting a new group off the ground.”

“I’d appeal to any current WiRE women who may know any of the women pictured to make sure they know about the birthday party.”
