Dianne Smart of Smart-Lifecoach.co.uk gave us a “does what it’s designed to do” approach to goal setting at the June meeting of the Telford and Wrekin WIRE networking group.
Literally put into the spotlight (our facilities are high-tech at the Marches Growth Hub) was the lovely Dianne Smart who gave us all an insight into her background and how she created her life coaching business.
Dianne says;
I am extremely lucky in that I support and motivate people to move forward and make changes to their lives, reach their goals and realise their aspirations. I support them to develop life plans and practical strategies that can support them for the rest of their lives.
I worked for many years in a Community Mental Health Team as a qualified practitioner; working with individuals, their partners and in some cases their families all with differing circumstances, problems and issues requiring a unique and personalised approach. Often supporting them through difficult times, while most importantly, enabling them to gain control of their lives and aspirations.
My experience in practice informed me well and equipped me with knowledge about people, how they behave, how they react and above all how they can improve and expand belief in themselves and their capabilities.
I volunteer on a number of projects in the Shropshire area and am passionate about helping young people to develop resilience and self belief.
I practice at The Natural Health Centre in Shrewsbury and at my home in Shifnal.
I am married, have 2 sons and have a passion for the outdoors. I love walking, rear my own chickens and pride myself on being practical, down to earth and most importantly…..approachable.
Dianne’s Top Tips On Goal Setting That She Shared As Our Guest Speaker
Life coaching is all about you and what you would like to achieve in your life. The focus is on positive change and finding the best path for you to take.
It starts with clarifying where you are now, where you would like to be and the obstacles that seem to be in the way. The next step is to put a practical plan together of how you’re actually going to get there. There are so many aspects to consider in our increasingly busy lives, it’s not surprising there are times we may feel stuck and need some direction.
This is what a recent client had to say about Dianne and her life coaching service “Di is a very supportive, caring, empathic therapist who genuinely strives to support you at your own pace. She provides you with a very comfortable space to explore whilst aiming to achieve your own personal goals. She is extremely personable and I recommend her highly.” (D D 2016)
