Buttle Farm is home to 6 different breeds of native British rare breed pigs which are farmed in an extensive free range system. They have large paddocks and the freedom to do what pigs do – graze, root, wallow and snooze in the sun. As well as selling fresh pork to restaurants and direct to the public, in a converted barn on the farm, the pork is transformed into salami, air-dried ham and bacon in a high-tech processing unit with temperature and humidity control.
Additionally, the farm is home to a 5*Gold rated luxury self-catering holiday cottage set in some old converted barns but equipped to the highest modern standards, with 2, 3 or 4 ensuite super king bedrooms.
The BBQ Terrace has a woodfired oven, spit-roast and BBQ pit and has hosted events as diverse as a wedding for 80, a Rotary Club Summer Party for 50, a WI charcuterie tasting, a flexible venue in a wonderful country setting (with a barn as back-up in case of adverse weather!).
