Sandy Green


The HR Dept Herefordshire provides outsourced HR services to small to medium sized businesses in Hereford, Leominster, Ross-on-Wye, Ledbury and Bromyard. Sandy is a fully CIPD qualified HR professional with more than 25 years experience, gained both nationally and internationally. Over and above that, Sandy also has over 7 years experience providing a full range of HR support to SME’s in Cape Town, South Africa.

Her most recent role was as Head of Human Resources for Heineken UK at its Ledbury site. Sandy’s experience covers a variety of sectors including manufacturing, distribution, sales and marketing, finance and IT as well as with a huge variety of SME’s, ranging from a 3 employee strong fast food van, to clothing manufacturers, employing around 250 staff members. Having had a good mix of international and national experience from SME’s to large corporates, Sandy believes that in general, the issues are the same, no matter what the country, it is just the accents that are different!

Sandy is passionate about people issues and believes strongly that HR practitioners should always be enablers – in other words she has a very pragmatic and commercial approach to providing clients with advice which will help to prevent problems before they arise wherever possible – or resolving them quickly and legally if they do arise. Sandy has worked within a number of stages in business, including start-ups; business expansion; restructuring; benchmarking and downsizing. During these processes, she strived to ensure that the consequent people issues were handled correctly and appropriately at all times. She provides a personal, cost effective service that is flexible to meet your needs, when you need it. Employment legislation is constantly changing, making it extremely difficult for business owners and managers to keep up when they have other pressures associated with running a business to deal with.
