I started So Sussex together with my husband in 2009. So Sussex is an outdoor activity and event management company. Our aim is to provide children and their families with a range of different opportunities to spend more time outdoors, to learn something new and to develop their appreciation for the local environment.

We run the award winning Elderflower Fields Festival and also organise Into the Trees. Both events takes place at Pippingford Park on Ashdown Forest. We also run a Schools Without Walls Program throughout the year and we can organise corporate outdoor team events.

The So Sussex team has been growing steadily over the past few years and when it became clear that it was not longer possible for us and our colleagues to to continue to work from home, we decided to go ahead and build an office for ourselves, but we also wanted to create something that would benefit our rural community and other small business and freelancers in the area.

Spithurst Hub was developed and built by So Sussex in partnership with a local landowner who wanted to make better use of an area of his land. It is now a thriving, modern co-working space with a meeting room and a large kitchen. The gardens are being developed with wildlife in mind and there are plenty of spaces where you can work and/or relax outdoors.

So Sussex now manages Spithurst Hub alongside all our other projects and we offer a range of different membership packages; Dedicated Offices, Private Desks or Hot Desks Packages and we also have a Pay As You Go option. Our meeting room and the kitchen is available for members and non-members to hire.

I love baking and cooking and there are often homemade cakes and biscuits available for our Hub Users and communal lunches are provided regularly. Full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are available by arrangement and we pride ourselves on using high quality, local produce as much as possible and I love incorporating foraged ingredients when I can. We are also developing our very own kitchen garden.

The South Downs WiRE group meet here at The Hub every second Thursday of the month and it has been a pleasure to host such a great group of entrepreneurial women and I greatly enjoy being part of the group.
