I am a Mindfulness Practitioner and offer Mindfulness courses to individuals and organisations. I have trained through The University of Bangor, Centre for Mindfulness, Research and Practice. I have also completed additional training with The University of Oxford to deliver mindfulness in the workplace.
I am trained to deliver the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and the 8 week Finding Peace in a Frantic World course. I can also deliver shorter, more bespoke courses and/or taster sessions. I deliver mindfulness training to individuals and to the general public in a variety of settings. In addition to teaching mindfulness to the general population, I have a particular interest in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students mindfulness skills to help them thrive in their professional and personal lives.I am insured and receive regular supervision in line with Good Practice Guidelines.
I currently work PT in the NHS and over the last 25 years have developed a huge range of skills to draw on in clinical practice, managerial roles and research. I am also an ILM Executive Coach.
Having experienced workplace stress I became curious in how I could change my relationship with stress, embarking on my own mindfulness journey to learn more. Undoubtedly, my personal experience of anxiety and work related stress has given me a perspective on how anxiety and stress can affect home and work life, and how mindfulness may be helpful for dealing with life’s up and downs.
My passion is teaching mindfulness skills authentically to others. Mindfulness is in innate skill that we are born with but it often gets diluted as we progress through life. Consequently, we can spend significant amounts of time on ‘automatic pilot’, ruminating about the past and worrying about future. There is compelling evidence that Mindfulness training can help people to become more present, aware, focused and more resilient and productive as well as helping to reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
As an Executive Coach I may use a combination of mindfulness based approaches and coaching skills, if appropriate.
