Burton conference to support innovative and creative SMEs

I am delighted to have teamed up with fellow WiRE member, Cheryl Morris of Creative Word PR, to organise the third annual Burton Small Business Conference in our home town of Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

This year’s event is set to be the biggest and best yet with stands from business support organisations, inspirational speakers and advice for SMEs.

Tickets are now on sale for the event, which for the first time will include stands from organisations that can help businesses with everything from networking and funding to free support and advice to help take their business to the next level.

At least 100 delegates are expected to attend the event, which is being supported by the Burton and District Chamber of Commerce and Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub. It will take place at Burton Albion Football Club’s Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday September 12, from 9am to 2pm, ending with a networking buffet lunch.

Cheryl said it was great to see the event growing year on year.

She said: “The Burton Small Business Conference is a fantastic way for small businesses across the area to come together, make new connections and gain useful advice and tools to help grow their business.

“It will focus on the support that a wide range of innovative and specialist independent businesses need to help them grow in the town.”

There is also another WiRE connection, because the opening speaker of the event will be Sue Tonks giving one of her entertaining and memorable presentations about networking.
