WiRE woman nominated for supporting local community

WiRE business dedicated to supporting fellow small enterprises has been recognised for its commitment to local communities.

Creative Word PR, based in Burton On Trent, has been nominated for a 2017 Trent and Dove Impact Award for their support in helping others through their PR and content writing.

The nomination comes just months after receiving the Support Staffordshire Business Contribution to Volunteering award.

Founder Cheryl Morris, who is also part of Burton Small Business – a group dedicated to supporting independent town companies, said: “PR is such a powerful tool in helping businesses to shout about and share their successes I wanted to make sure that it was something available for businesses of all sizes and stages in their development.

“Having worked with larger companies, council bodies and on national campaigns I always wanted to create a business which offered the same great service to companies of all sizes and celebrate the area’s many interesting and inspiring local businesses.”

Creative Word PR also supports local charities and communities through volunteering and offers PR and copywriting services to help projects making a difference in her community.

It is this support that has seen the company singled out for the latest nomination. For the past two years founder Cheryl Morris has been proud to help East Staffordshire Family Support Service raise awareness of the support they offer to all young families in the region.

The group, which includes Harvey Girls and Dads4Dads, also supports young mums who may be struggling either after fleeing domestic violence or due to financial hardship and also helps dads to reconnect with their children.

“The work East Staffordshire Family Support Service do for the local community is invaluable,” said Cheryl. “The project doesn’t just help people in need, it changes people’s lives for the better supporting not just the parents but the children who will go on to better beginnings from the support the teams provide.

“At Creative Word PR I am always keen to make sure I am giving something back and it couldn’t be a more worthwhile project.”

The Trent and Dove Impact Awards recognise the work of individuals and groups who make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives.
