Just finished designing the first of our new cycle tours for 2018; a Slow Food Cycle Tour of Shropshire. A chance to visit and sample craft beer & wine from six local breweries and vineyards… and of course enjoy wonderful local Shropshire produce at every stop over the six day cycling holiday. Definitely a great reward for each day’s cycle touring.
We were asked to design this new holiday by the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, who wanted to promote local rural food producers, who look after this wonderful landscape in a sustainable way… cycling was the perfect partner.
Staying at the Baron at Bucknell on the River Teme, then two nights at The Castle Hotel in Bishop’s Castle and two nights at The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow. In between there is an easy cycle ride on traffic free lanes of about 20 miles per day, giving plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely lunch, and visit local attractions like; The Three Tuns Brewery and Ludlow Brewery, Kerry Vale vineyard, Stokesay Castle, Acton Scott Historic Working Farm and the Ludlow Food Centre, Ludlow Castle. Each evening reward yourself with a meal at one of the award winning restaurants in the area, all of whom pride themselves on using local ingredients. The price of the cycling holiday is £650 and includes: all accommodation, brilliant routes, luggage transported, quality bikes and equipment and our award winning service.
Details of the holiday can be found on www.wheelywonderfulcycling.co.uk together with 30 other cycling short breaks and longer cycle tours through Shropshire , Herefordshire and Wales. Cycle tours are individually booked and can be started any day from Easter until September.
