WIRE member Moule & Co, a firm of Rural Chartered Surveyors, is encouraging rural businesses not to miss out on the latest funding stream available under the LEADER programme for South Shropshire.
Over the last 12 months, Moule & Co has successfully secured grant funding of over £100,000 for projects including cattle handling facilities, glamping sites, specialist livestock housing and fixtures, forestry equipment and various sorts of diversification.
The majority of their funding success has been in Worcestershire, however, Moule & Co also manage LEADER applications in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Warwickshire. Angela Cantrill from Moule & Co, who submits applications to the Shropshire LEADER scheme, says “You can apply for funding for projects that create jobs, help your business to grow and benefit the rural economy. The funding is available to local businesses, communities, farmers, foresters and land managers”.
Funding is still available for rural businesses and outline applications can be made now – the deadline for the current round of submissions is Friday 24th November 2017. There are two stages to the application; firstly, you need to submit an Expression of Interest form; if your idea is deemed eligible, you will be invited to the Full Application stage.
