Seminar to help local businesses increase brand awareness

Posted: 2nd May 2017

A Worcestershire social media and marketing support agency is calling for delegates to take up the last few places on a forthcoming seminar.

Online Media Works is running the event, entitled ‘Using Instagram for Business’, on Tuesday 16 May between 9.30am and 4.30pm in Worcester.

The seminar – which will be delivered by Online Media Works founder Esther Partridge-Warner – will focus on increasing brand awareness by using Instagram, a statistically sound place to invest both time and energy.

The event will appeal to people running visual businesses such as hotels, retail, hairdressing and beauty salons, as well as fitness instructors and yoga teachers.

Esther explained : “Since the dawn of time when cave dwellers told stories by painting on their walls, people have loved visual storytelling.  Now in the 21st century people love Instagram because the visual content inspires them and they discover things they care about; this includes both photos and videos from brands and businesses.  Interestingly, 60 per cent of people say they discover new products on Instagram and 75 per cent of Instagrammers take action after being inspired by a post.”

The seminar will equip delegates with knowledge, practical techniques, tips and strategies to create an effective plan to raise their profile.  Attendees will learn :

  • How the best use of hashtags will help a business to be found;
  • How to build a library of photos that tell a brand story;
  • How to engage followers;
  • How to effectively promote an Instagram account;
  • How to measure the effectiveness of a strategy.

Launched in 2010, Instagram is now part of the Facebook family. It is one of the fastest growing social networks in the world with more than 500 million active users who share an average of 95 million photos and videos and post 4.2 billion likes every day.

Online Media Works frees up small business owners from the time consuming process of marketing, allowing them to focus on running their businesses and, crucially, generating revenue.

Esther – who previously ran a local training company – has first-hand experience of the needs of a small business; in her current role she offers a bespoke service, marketing support or training or a combination of both.

Esther has extensive experience in both sales and marketing, spanning a successful 25 year career.  She has worked in large multinational corporations as well as micro businesses, across industries including publishing, security, IT, health, recruitment and creative industries.
