Abereiddy based company, Celtic Quest Coasteering Ltd, has been shortlisted for a prestigious award, thanks to an innovative marketing campaign.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Wales has the named company, as a finalist at this year’s CIM Wales/Cymru Marketing Awards.
Shortlisted under the Best use of Creative category, the coasteering specialist impressed the judges with a never-been-done-before 360′ virtual coasteering experience, leading to a booking increase of nearly 6%.
Showcasing the region’s impressive coastline and attracting novices and adrenaline junkies alike to try their hand at the sport, the campaign was designed to reflect Visit Wales’ overarching Year of Adventure theme for 2016.
“Coasteering is a relatively new adventure activity and many visitors have never heard of it,” Founder and Managing Director, Cleopatra Browne, said: Talking someone into jumping off a cliff is no mean feat. Photos are good, video is better but a virtual immersive experience; that is fantastic. People are able to try coasteering without getting their feet wet, getting a real feel for what it’s all about.
“We’re stoked to be finalists for a CIM Wales Award, everything crossed that the judges have a head for heights.”
The team behind the adrenaline-filled campaign will know if they have been successful at a lavish awards ceremony to be held at Cardiff’s Portland House on November 23.
CIM Cymru Wales Marketing Awards Head Judge and Marketing Manager at STAEDTLER UK, Rachel Woolley, said:
“Celtic Quest Coasteering Ltd. stood out with their innovative approach to marketing and I’m delighted to name them as a finalist at this year’s Awards.”
