Judith Poulteney (www.judithpoulteney.co.uk) has become a voluntary adviser for the Enterprise Adviser Network (part of the newly formed Careers and Enterprise Company) and will be supporting a secondary school in the Telford and Wrekin area (Shropshire) for the equivalent of one day a month offering help with a careers strategy, plan and activities.
The aim is to build on the good work already being done and to create stronger links between businesses and schools so that students understand what businesses look for in employees, can better prepare themselves for working life and a career, and develop vital work and personal skills. As a result they should be more likely to reach their potential and less likely to become NEET (not in employment, education and training). Judith may well feel the need to seek the help of women entrepreneurs as role models – or need certain business contacts – please watch this space!
