Donning wigs for Wig Wednesday, running raffles and charging entrance fees to attend the monthly networking meetings throughout 2015, enabled the members of its Ipswich branch to raise enough money to potentially pay for a family to stay in a CLIC Sargent Home from Home for more than two weeks.
Sue Hall, founder and chair of the Ipswich branch of WiRE, said: “Cancer for anyone is awful, but for a child seems so unfair and if our small fundraising helps just a little it makes it worthwhile.”
Sue added: “Fundraising is a very important part of our business network and thanks to our members we’ve been able to raise vital funds for good causes, both local and national.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Daisy Turner said: “We’re so grateful to Sue and all the WiRE members for their passion and commitment to changing the lives of young people with cancer.”
