WiRE Member, mum, and entrepreneur, Ruthie Corblay from Baby Bathbombs, earned herself a place in the final line-up of The Mumpreneur Awards, an annual ceremony aimed at celebrating parents throughout the UK who manage the difficult task of juggling business with family life as well as the Worcestershire Business Awards! The loving mother of 2 from Worcestershire, runs babybathbombs, a business specialising in making and selling the first ever range of baby safe and ethical bath bombs.
Ruthie has been shortlisted for the Mumpreneur Spark category, which is open to businesses who started after 6th April 2013 but who have made a big impact. Having launched babybathbombs in May of this year she runs the company, is a loving mother to two children, homeschools one of them, is expecting a third in January and also is Chairmum of the local Netmums group. babybathbombs was also honoured to be shortlisted for the National Loved by Parents Awards 2015 as best bath time product. Ruthie is thrilled to be in the finals and is up against 9 other finalists who have excellent merits.
As well as being shortlisted for this category, Ruthie is also in with a chance of winning the title of The Inspirational Business Mum 2015, which will be awarded to the mum who is an inspiration to all women in business, and could walk away with a fantastic prize and is also a finalist in the Worcestershire Business Awards Best New Start Up and Best Ethical Business.
Having reached the finals of The Mumpreneur Awards, Ruthie said “I couldn’t believe it when I read the email saying “Mumpreneur Finalist’! I had to re-read it a few times before it actually sank in! I’m absolutely thrilled to be recognised for all the hard work and sacrifice that being a mumpreneur entails; it took years to create the baby safe formulation of our babybathbombs so this Award means a great deal to me! Am very excited to attend the Awards Ceremony and meet fellow finalists and find out if I have done enough to win! I hope with such an impressive first 6 months trading I should be in with a good chance!”
Judging Ruthie’s entry will be a panel of top entrepreneurs but she’ll have to wait until 14th November, when the winners will be announced at The Mumpreneur Conference and Awards, being held at the Heart of England Center in Warwickshire. This event is open to all parents who juggle family and business, and also for those interested in taking the plunge and starting up. Tickets prices start at just £59, and can be purchased through the Mumpreneur UK website, where you’ll find a whole range of resources and information for business mums www.mumpreneuruk.com.
