Grocery Accelerator an exciting new programme looking to help new upcoming food brands by finding suitable investors and mentoring support, picks Herefordshire business and WiRE Member Spiced by Rayeesa as one of 12 finalist at last week’s top Food Trade show Speciality and Fine Food Show at London Olympia. The programme are looking for high potential, premium and innovative food and drink brands. Spiced by Rayeesa competed against over 300 new businesses and after a 7 week selection process became one of 12 finalists. Their range of frozen curry sauces, captured the judges favour for its innovation, quality and concept, “this really is the Rolls Royce of curry sauces” says Rob Ward one of the programmes founders. “Being frozen it is not only convenient and easy to use but also captures the true fresh flavours of the cuisine”.
Rayeesa Asghar-Sandys owner of Rayeesa’s Indian Kitchen Cookery School, who launched the new exciting brand in June says, “I wanted to give our customers the ultimate in home dining experience with our sauces, and also wanted to give a truly fresh and healthy product. All our sauces are cooked in the traditional slow method ensuring full flavour and then frozen at point of perfection.” “We are so thrilled to have got to the finals of the Grocery Accelerator, knowing what great products we were up against. Although we did not win, we have learnt so much in a month that it has really helped to fine tune us and prepare us for the future. “
Mother and daughter team of Rayeesa and daughter Farah are looking to make their Spiced by Rayeesa range available throughout the UK, currently in 60 independent shops and available online.
