Ruth Downing from Rural Pictures was delighted be part of a recent marriage proposal!
The picture (organised in advance) and taken at Ashbourne Show earlier this month shows an unusual marriage proposal by Alex Burrows to girlfriend Jo Stubbs using her prizewinning Jersey cow to help him out. Alex chose the grand parade in the main ring in front of a packed audience to propose to Jo. She of course said yes and was greeted by a huge cheer from the watching crowd.
Says Ruth “It was lovely to have such a feel good story at a time when agriculture, dairy farmers in particular, is having a hard time.”
