Course Overview

This course will provide an overview of the key steps necessary in planning for and launching a new business. We’ll discuss the importance of doing thorough research and gathering essential resources, as well as the vital role that goal-setting plays in ensuring operational success. Additionally, we’ll cover financing strategies, legal and regulatory considerations, marketing strategies, and more. By completing this course, you will have acquired a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to plan for a new business venture.

Module One: Research & Resources

In this module, we’ll discuss how to adequately research your industry and target market so that you can make informed decisions about your business model. This includes researching competitors and their offerings and collecting essential information such as customer demographics. Additionally, we’ll dive into finding reliable resources so that you can equip yourself with the tools you need to launch your business successfully.

Module Two: Goal Setting

In this module, we’ll explore how goal setting is a critical part of planning for a new business venture. You’ll learn how to set short-term and long-term goals that are pertinent to launching your business and maintain momentum afterwards. We’ll also discuss why it’s important to be realistic when setting goals so that you can adjust according to any roadblocks or challenges along the way.

Module Three: Financing Strategies

In this module, we’ll go over different ways of financing a startup including angel investors, venture capital firms, crowdfunding platforms, personal loans from banks or credit unions, grants from government agencies or nonprofits organizations and more. We’ll review the eligibility criteria for each option as well as any fees associated with these financing methods.

Module Four: Legal & Regulatory Considerations

In this module, we’ll review various legal considerations involved in launching a new business such as filing necessary paperwork with state agencies (i.e., Articles of Incorporation), obtaining permits or licenses relevant to your particular industry (i.e., food handling license), establishing contracts with vendors or other third parties (i.e., lease agreements), establishing proper employment policies (i.e., Sexual Harassment Prevention Training), etc.. We also discuss general regulations imposed by government agencies such as environmental laws or privacy laws related to data collection activities on your website/applications/etc..

Module Five: Marketing Strategies

For many businesses success depends on having sound marketing strategies which are tailored specifically to what customers in their particular industry expect from them . In this module , we introduce students to various forms of digital marketing such as email campaigns , search engine optimization (SEO) , social media advertising , influencer marketing , content creation , etc . We also cover traditional forms of advertising like radio , TV spots , print ads , billboards , etc . Students will learn how these tactics come together into an effective overall marketing strategy which drives qualified leads to their website/storefront/location etc .
