bpvaThe current VAT threshold is £83,000 so if you earn over that you have to register. However, you can register voluntary, even if you are nowhere near that. It just depends on what is best for your business and what will benefit you. Some might say that it makes your business appear to be doing well and looks more professional. At the end of the day its up to you. But if you charge 20% on your invoices and claim a flat rate VAT you might be better off. Talk to your accountant about flat rates to find out more.
