Give Your Self-confidence A Boost

Posted: 27th October 2015

New WiRE member, Liz Tucker (Shepherd Creative Learning) is a Self-confidence Coach. Self-confidence is an essential part of everyone’s life – whether you are an entrepreneur, employee or stay-at-home parent.

It’s widely accepted that people who have self-confidence are more likely to achieve their goals. Liz shares five simple tips to give your self-confidence a boost.

Liz commented “we all have self-confidence issues at some point; no one is immune. It’s a matter of personal choice whether we face the fear or live with lack of self-confidence”.

Here are five tips to give your self-confidence a boost:

  1.  Focus on your strengths rather than your weaknesses. The more you like and value yourself the more others will too
  2. Give yourself a pep-talk. When you do something well or achieve a mini-goal savour the moment. Too often we ignore our successes because we are too busy focusing on what’s next
  3. Positive thinking and speaking has a powerful role to play. Never underestimate the power of positive and negative thinking and speaking. Look around you at some of the most successful people you know
  4. Stop comparing yourself to others. You are unique and that’s something to celebrate. So, you’re not perfect – neither is anyone else!
  5. Feel good about your appearance. If you feel great in your clothes or like the way your hair and makeup looks, it shows. When you feel good you present yourself more confidently to others

Self-confidence is contagious, so what are you waiting for?

Liz has recently published two self-help books – ‘A Matter of Self-confidence – Part I’ and ‘A Matter of Self-confidence – Part II’. Both books are available on Amazon, in paperback and kindle format. These books will give you an insight into yourself and help you on your journey to greater self-confidence.
