Are you going to survive or thrive?

I’m a big believer in looking at the positive in every situation.

No-one could have predicted recent events. However, we are where we are and we all have to make the best of it.

While many are in survive mode right now, you could actually thrive from this.

So, I’ve viewed this as a massive opportunity. I’ve grabbed this time out with both hands.

Whatever you do in business, external factors happen. You have no control over them but it’s how you react to them that is so important.

These 5 tips may just help you and give you an insight into what you could be doing now:

Keep showing up! By that I mean that you must keep marketing. It’s more important now than it was before. So are your social media channels up to date? Are you showing up every day? Are you networking online?

Keep selling. I don’t mean blatantly sell sell sell. What I’m talking about is your sales message. Your customers are still there but they may not be able to buy right now. However, they still need your products and services, people are still spending money and if they can’t buy right now, they will in future.

Look after the pennies. Remember the old adage “Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves“? Now is a great time to go through the last 12 months’ figures. Line by line. What did you spend your money on? Was it necessary? Did it help you sell your product or services?

Learn a new skill. You may have some downtime right now. However, whatever your circumstances, there is a whole load of free training online right now. Grab it. If you ‘up skill’, you’ll be way ahead when things get back to normal.

Plan, plan, plan. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. So ask yourself this… If the Government lifted the restrictions tomorrow, are you ready to go? You should always be planning for the next 90 days, so why is it any different now?

If you carry out each of the above steps, you will be at least one step ahead of your competitors. The businesses that work through this will be the ones standing above the others.

Good luck and stay safe
