German-born Monika is a nature loving, multi-discipline designer and events organizer, endeavouring to make her contribution towards saving the planet.  She is committed to inspiring others about the wonders of the natural world and WiRE SS is delighted to welcome her as our speaker tonight.

With a background in design, her focus was always on environmentally conscious graphic design or multimedia solutions. Her portfolio includes a wide range of design works from architectural heritage to nature conservation projects.  Her events focus is on finding or creating inspiring settings for truly individual and memorable experiences – with a hint of adventure – in the great outdoors.

Monika had the vision to develop a concept for cultural and wildlife events tourism that is individual, high-quality and, above all, fun and adventure.  Wild Adventures under Suffolk’s Skies started with exclusive photography events on Suffolk’s only island, guided by acclaimed wildlife and landscape photographers.  But it quickly developed into a portfolio that now also includes walks discovering the sounds of nature or the architectural gems of Thorpeness.
Recognition came fast: the events that Monika produced on Havergate Island were singled out by VisitEngland‘s ‘101 Things To Do in England’ in 2013, as one of only two Things to Do in Suffolk, and their work has been featured in Metro, East Anglian Daily Times and The Guardian.  A substantial part of the income generated, therefore, goes back into wildlife conservation or helps protect the future of endangered farm animals.
Monika will share her story and her vision for the future, especially from a Brexit perspective.  For everyone working with nature, migration is not about having the right passport – it is what has created this wonderfully rich world around us that she aims to preserve and promote.
