Holiday Inn Express, Second Avenue Parkway, Centrum 100 business park, Burton-on-Trent DE14 2WF
January 10, 2018, will be our first WiRE Burton meeting in our NEW home – the Holiday Inn Express hotel on Burton-on-Trent’s centrum 100 business park.
We are delighted to welcome international speaker and trainer Sue Tonks as our guest speaker. She will talk about: “The POWER of the Initial Meeting – The Secrets to Building Relationships”.
We are thrilled to have secured Sue for this milestone meeting. She delivers presentations with unforgettable comedy moments. Her knowledge and tips on how to get the best from your networking experiences have justifiably won her international acclaim. Her fun and practical style helps people to vividly remember key points and develop long lasting skills. Sue’s clients include London Business School, University College London, Durham Business School and a host of top legal firms, banks and accountancy firms.
We’ll be meeting in the large foyer at the hotel. You are welcome to arrive from 6.45pm to sign in and pay your meeting fee. You will be able to get a hot drink and network informally until we move through to the meeting room. You will be able to bring flyers and business cards to pop on a table in the meeting room and everyone will get the chance to introduce themselves to the room. The WiRE member giving a 10-minute presentation to give more detail about what she does will be Lisa Satchwell.
We will also be introducing you to our charity for 2018 – the LoveInspire Foundation, founded by Monica Dunbar. Monica is also a local business owner who runs Caribbean catering firm Dattie’s Soul Food. Monica will be attending January’s WiRE meeting to tell us more about her charity’s work in the area of crisis prevention and how we can support her in 2018.
Any women who work (for themselves, for others, or for charities) are welcome to attend. There are no restrictions on the numbers and types of businesses who can attend and it doesn’t matter where you are based.
Admission will be £8 for non-members and £5 for WiRE members. Pay on the door but PLEASE help us prepare for the night by booking a place on this web page. Parking is free in the hotel car park but you will need to collect a code from reception on your way out to raise the car park exit barrier.
If you need to come straight from work you may be interested to know that light bites including paninis, jacket potatoes and pizza, are available to buy from the hotel all day and into the evening. So it’s the ideal spot to grab something to eat, or perhaps have a one-to-one meeting with a business contact ahead of the meeting.
