Climate change and sustainability are making their way up the agenda for enterprises of all shapes and sizes. For some it is just greenwashing, while others genuinely want to respond and build sustainable companies.
Sue Burnell from Accelerated Success and Zero Carbon Shropshire will be joining us on May 19th to help us understand what we can do and how we can start.
However, getting started on this journey is harder than it should be. There’s the language barrier for a start – what is a sustainable
enterprise, a carbon footprint and what is net zero carbon when it’s at home? Every business journey is unique so, how do you work out where the start line is? And how do you keep going when finances are tight and there are already so many demands on your time?
This is where Accelerated Success was at the end of 2018. We wanted to make changes in our business (and home life) but despite the wealth of information we just felt overwhelmed and confused.
The tragedy is we all have an imperative to engage – responding to climate change is everybody’s business. Over the next 10 years, globally, we need to decarbonise the economy. That’s by 2030, not 2050 as the Government is proposing.
To do that we have to make this whole conversation accessible to everyone. I’m not a climate scientist, or an ecologist but I can help demystify what we need to do, how to do and most importantly, the opportunities for companies that start this transformation now.
