12th September 2018 – 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Holiday Inn Express hotel, Second Avenue, Centrum 100, Burton-on-Trent, DE14 2WF.

Cost: £8.00 (£5.00 for members) - Pay network leader directly

Our guest speaker in September will be Rebecca Head of Four Oaks Legal Services.

Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest-ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition.

Rebecca is a private client solicitor and Dementia Friends Champion. She will be joining us to deliver an interactive and fun information session to help you understand more about living with dementia and to challenge your perceptions about the condition.

We will also have a rescheduled 10-minute presentation from July’s member of the month, proofreader Lindsay Corten.

We welcome donations at any meetings for our 2018 charity of the year, the LoveInspire Foundation. They would welcome donations of nappies, sanitary products and gifts that can be used as raffle and tombola prizes at their own fundraising events.

We’ll be meeting in the large foyer at Burton-on-Trent’s Holiday Inn Express hotel. You are welcome to arrive from 6.45pm to sign in and pay your meeting fee. You will be able to get a hot drink and network informally until we move through to the meeting room.

You will be able to bring flyers and business cards to pop on a table in the meeting room and everyone will get the chance to introduce themselves to the room.

Any women who work (for themselves, for others, or for charities) are welcome to attend. There are no restrictions on the numbers and types of businesses who can attend and it doesn’t matter where you are based.

Admission will be £8 for non-members and £5 for WiRE members. Pay on the door but PLEASE help us prepare for the night by booking a place on this page.

Parking is free in the hotel car park but you will usually need to collect a code from reception on your way out to raise the car park exit barrier.

If you need to come straight from work you may be interested to know that light bites including paninis, jacket potatoes and pizza, are available to buy from the hotel all day and into the evening. So it’s the ideal spot to grab something to eat, or perhaps have a one-to-one meeting with a business contact ahead of the meeting.
