WiRE FoD has been set up to encourage and provide support to female entrepreneurs and business owners within the Forest of Dean and the surrounding area. We provide a light lunch of soup (cooked by the amazing Yvette Farrell of Harts Barn Cookery School) followed by scrummy cakes (baked for us by Martha Williams, the head baker at Send Cake) plus tea or coffee. Should you have any specific dietary requirements please contact us via the Women in Rural Enterprise – Forest of Dean Facebook page by no later than 8pm on Monday 25 February 2019.
This month we are very please to welcomed Lizzie Whyte, our very own local Blacksmith who runs Wood and Iron.
Lizzie has come a long way in the last few years from starting on a shoestring, setting up her workshop, and then moving both her workshop and her home to the Forest of Dean. She creates unique pieces of handforged iron work for your home or garden ranging from coat racks and hooks to wagons and wigwams and everything in between!
I am very excited for Lizzie to talk to us about her business journey and show us some of her products – well those that are not too big! Photos will be fine of wagons and wigwams!
