Emma Heal joined graze.com as Retail Director in November 2014 and is now Managing Director, UK Retail. Bringing 15 years of commercial leadership experience and entrepreneurial spirit to the graze team, her remit was to launch graze snacks into retail and build a strong team and killer proposition from scratch. By July 2015, Emma had overseen the hugely successful retail launch of the on-the-go range of 12 SKUs into more than 4,000 stores nationwide, including WHSmith, Sainsbury’s and Boots. In less than 2 years on sale graze now sells 3 different product formats in +8500 stores nationally, with a Retail Sales Value of c£30m Emma leads a team of 25 across Sales, Marketing, Category & Shopper Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.
After a first class degree from the University of Bath and six months studying International Business at Copenhagen Business School, Emma cut her teeth as a buyer at Tesco before moving to the other side of the negotiation table as account manager for innocent drinks’ largest grocery account in 2006.
Following the successful launch of a £500k campaign for Age Concern in 2007, she was awarded Princes Trust Award for Business in the Community. Emma then went on to launch innocent into several countries in Scandinavia, sparking her passion for driving the strategic growth of innovative start-ups. Before joining graze, Emma was Head of Commercial Innovation for Africa at Diageo.
Emma has a passion for driving the strategic growth of innovative start-ups which continues with her work at graze.com and outside, where Emma is a avid supporter of creative businesses who challenge, disrupt and innovate. She is passionate about supporting women in business and in work and believes that think if more women could transfer their amazing energy into overcoming challenges and coming up with creative ideas to grow themselves and their businesses, then there would be a systemic shift in the number of businesses and makeup of the boardrooms across the world.
Emma will be treating us to the final inspirational talk of the WiRE 2017 Conference. She will be using her experience of big business to help delegates understand their uniqueness and how use it to create a business that people love, a product that has a clear market and a team that you can take with you on the journey.

Lisa will be opening the conference with a talk titled “The unstoppable force that is women in business.” She’ll be asking what is it that makes women an unstoppable force when it comes to business and what is the difference that makes the difference?
This session will provoke thought and create discussion on just what makes us shine as women in the business World. Drawing from both her own experiences and that of many phenomenal women, Lisa will share much wit and wisdom from both the trials to the celebrations of being or becoming that “unstoppable force”.
