What is Opening Doors?
‘Opening Doors’ is a unique programme of workshops, training, inspiration and support for women entrepreneurs thinking of or starting up their own business. Covering the counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire, ‘Opening Doors’ has been specifically developed by women for women in business.
The ‘Opening Doors’ programme aims to help women in business gain the confidence, knowledge, support and skills they need to start up their own business in a relaxed and enjoyable event in venues and at times convenient for them. We will help you build an action plan to get you on the path to being your own boss with a structured and supportive package of training and information.

How can Opening Doors help you?
The Opening Doors programme is FREE for women who are thinking of starting their own business or who have been trading for up to 12 months LIVING in the West Midlands, and comprises of;
- Opening Doors "More 2 Life" - Introductory two hour workshops on starting your own business
- Inspired! –Intensive three day workshops for women entrepreneurs who are keen to get going!
- Business skills and development workshops
- Specialist workshops and events
- One to one support from experienced WiRE project officers
- Information on other organisations that can provide further training and business planning support
- An opportunity to trade at supported events.

‘Opening Doors’ has been created for women entrepreneurs by Women in Rural Enterprise [WiRE] and is part of a collaborative project with the Women’s Business Development Agency [WBDA] and Prowess. It is funded and supported by Advantage West Midlands [AWM] and the European Social Fund [ESF]
