What is Opening Doors?

Opening Doors Start-up Training Programme is a 3 day intensive course covering everything you need to know about starting and growing a successful business. Courses are run regularly at a variety of locations - check the website for details. It is accredited by Harper Adams University College so academic credits are awarded and can count towards a higher award if you wish.

Who is it aimed at?

Anybody! There are no eligibility restrictions, you don’t even have to be running or intending to run a business immediately, you may want to refresh your skills or just be interested in how small businesses run. It can be delivered to any clients anywhere across the UK as part of the REEDNet employee engagement project.

What support is available?

There are three classroom teaching sessions where you will learn all about business and have the chance to network with a group of “likeminded” rural start-up businesses. Also, you will have access to the online Learning Resources Centre which allows you to continue to network, share skills and experiences and pick up useful hints and information in the future 

How much work is involved?

All the classroom work, the expertise of the group and the skills and knowledge you have already, combine to produce a professional business plan. This will provide strong foundations for your business. The business plan will be assessed as part of the academic requirements, but it is pass or fail only – you will receive so much support that we promise you will not fail!

How much does it cost?

Cost per client is heavily subsidised for a limited period but you must pay for all 3 in advance by credit card or cheque. Please call for details or see the current course dates.
