Government Survey of Home-Based Businesses - 09/21/2011
WiRE Member Rosie Beswick is currently working with the British Chambers of Commerce and Central Government on the
Business Growth Review trying to understand better the issues (planning and
some other red tape) that face home based businesses in England.
The current project is surveying home-based businesses - the survey is is open to any type of home based
business, men and women, past or current owners of this type of business but
only businesses based in England. Your
business can take part even if:
-
You are only part home based, office work at home with therest of time visiting clients.
-
You have moved on from home work but previously based your business at home.
-
You may run a franchise type business but your main base is home.
-
You are a banker, accountant, solicitor etc. and have information on how your home based clients have been affected.
Rosie has asked us to pass this around the WiRE network to help maximise the Government's understanding of home based business needs and requirements.
The survey will not be passed to local authorities or other organisations, it will simply provide vital information direct to the team within BIS in Central London so they can make proposals within the Growth Review that make sense.
