Country Living Spring Fair Springs small rural enterprise into the spotlight! - 04/04/11

For those ready to embrace the first signs of spring, Country Living Spring Fair caught the moment with smatterings of cool pastilles, fluttering bunting and a buzz of activity WiRE members’ stock was flying off their shelves, making their hectic flurry of business and product preparation well worth the trouble!

A buzzing atmosphere was truly felt by all with resonance of perhaps a more positive and prosperous outlook for small businesses in light of the new budget.

With the new budget set to deliver a more supportive framework for enterprising businesses in terms of cutting red-tape, providing more access to finance and cutting fixed costs (as listed and explained in HM Treasury Budget Report 2011); It would seem that there is much to celebrate for small businesses in light of the economic climate!  This essence of celebration and new beginnings was almost tangible at the Country Living Spring Fair, tying in spring with a breath of fresh air for small business and a hopeful outlook for 2011.

It was really inspiring to see WiRE members gathered together at this prestigious event in London and emphasised the fact that trade is out there and people are still spending which is great news for WiRE and trading businesses across the UK.

With Penny Lindop displaying her beautiful collection of cards and rural pictures, to fantastic home-wear, jewellery and children’s clothing the diversity and quality of the WiRE member stands were far superior to those of any others and a real delight to see hand-made, locally sourced unique products trading beneath the WiRE umbrella.
