'Staycation' is here to stay say Visit England - 27/05/10

The statistics indicate that in 2009, England saw an 18 per cent increase in the number of holiday trips taken, Visit England has identified two groups as being behind the rise in domestic holidays, families who have chosen to holiday at home due to financial considerations. And young single people who want to explore the UK.

Findings from the study show that 90 per cent of 'staycationers' expect to take at least one break in England this year.
