About the Company / Business
Hi. My name is Janet and I am here to help you with any driving related issues. As well having my own driving school, Driving Aspirations, I am also an Observer with the Institute of Advanced Motorists. I offer a full range of driving related lessons from the complete beginner to refresher courses for qualified drivers on specific subjects such as parking, confidence boosting on motorways etc. Intensive courses are also available. I teach in Scarborough and surrounding villages, Malton and Pickering, and villages in the Vale of Pickering.
Having my own business means I can be very flexible for example I am happy to fit lessons around student's college timetables and work shift patternswhen necessary. I am also willing to collect students from their place of work or college.
Students are provided with a Progress Card so they can see how they are getting on. It is also useful for parents who may be paying to see that progress is being made and of course I am always happy to chat to parents especially if they are giving their teenager extra practice in the family car.
As well as practical training I help with theory study. Talking through the background to different topics often helps students to understand the relevance of what they are learning (it also helps them to remember when coming to take the Theory Test!)
I am registered to deliver the Pass Plus course which takes recently qualified drivers on to the next level. It includes rural driving, motorways, night driving and town centres. In Scarborough rural means up onto the North York Moors, up/down 1 in 3 hills, hair pins bends etc. Motorways mean up to the A1 and head south!
As a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists we are constantly being trained in additional skills and some of these skills, such as advanced observations, I teach to my learner students to help them in their course and once they are a qualified driver will help them stay safe every day.
I love driving - it is my hobby and I try at every opportunity to pass on this enthusiasm. Lessons with me are always fun - hence my logo - nothing stuffy or pretentious. Students look forward to their driving lessons and if they enjoy them then they will do well when it comes to the test.
