About the Company / Business

I have just passed my first anniversary in Swan House and I am delighted to say the first year of Bed and Breakfasts has been a resounding success and a total joy.  Our guests have been delightful and I am as much in love with the beauties of Swan House and the surrounding Herefordshire countryside as I was when we arrived.  Come and stay with us and share our pleasure in our county and its attractions and produce.  For photographs and up to date news do look on Facebook.

Swan House began life quite possibly in the 16th Century, though which flagstone beam or cornerstone is the oldest it would be impossible to say, as successive centuries of reinvention resulted in the handsome, largely 17th and 18th century house that stands here today.

As Swan House entered the 21st Century it was in need of a helping hand. With vision, expertise and enthusiasm it was transformed from a house which had stood empty for decades into a wonderful home, offering exceptional and unusual Bed and Breakfast accommodation.

Each of the three double guest rooms in this interesting house is set on a different level and each has its own entrance. The rooms are distinctive and comfortable and offer a unique sense of warmth and seclusion.

Only 15 minutes from the motorway we are situated in the rural beauty of the Herefordshire village of Tarrington. The church bells and the birds are the only sounds which might wake you in the morning. We have plenty of parking and can offer secure garage space to bicycles and motorbikes, on request.

Each morning you will find breakfast served in the dining room, where the irregular planks of the 17th century elm floor show the saw marks of the two handed pit saw and the leaded window looks out onto the cider apple orchards of Tarrington Court. Fresh Local produce is at the heart of our menu.

Swan House has been awarded Four Stars by the Heart of England Tourist Board and it is our intention to maintain the high standards set, and continually seek to offer the very best in comfort and care to our guests.
