About The Mind Sanctuary
There is a fine line between experiences of stress, trauma, sadness or grief and the more severe symptoms associated with mental illness.
At The Mind Sanctuary, we understand that those experiencing stress, insomnia, anger or depression, those who feel they are on the verge of a breakdown, those living through a breakdown and those on the road to recovery after a breakdown, share the same need: the feeling that you can regain control.
We have created The Mind Sanctuary to be a safe, calming space designed to connect you with the resources, inspiration and hope you need so that you can regain control – no matter how mild or severe your symptoms or experiences are.
We aim to:
- Help you overcome or manage every day challenges such as stress, anger, depression and bereavement
- Motivate and empower you to start your own journey towards emotional and psychological wellbeing
- Forge connections between those who need help and those who can provide it
We do this by:
- Raising your awareness of natural approaches to emotional and psychological well-being
- Sharing inspirational stories of recovery
- Connecting you to professionals within the local community who can support you on your journey
If you are experiencing symptoms which you feel are affecting your emotional and mental wellbeing, or you’re somebody who provides support on these issues, we would love to hear from you. Drop us an email to let us know what you need help with, or what professional help and support you can offer others.
About Us
The Mind Sanctuary was founded by Tina Gibbons. Diagnosed with “potential” bipolar disorder several years ago, she was prescribed medication for around 3 years.
Told she was “too ill” to come off the medication without relapsing but “not ill enough” to warrant additional support, she desperately needed a place where she could find out what other therapies and treatment options were available. After paying for private therapy, she successfully came off the medication and now uses a combination of natural approaches – such as yoga, diet, lifestyle – to manage her own mental health.
The Mind Sanctuary is the website Tina needed when she was looking for additional approaches to the therapies she was offered. It’s a space to find the support you need…when you need it.
