Yarn and felt from local sheep
Company / Business Name: Aardvark Wools / Yarn and felt from local sheep
About the Company / Business
Using local rare breed and commercial fleece (sheep, alpaca, angora goat), to make yarn and felt.
The rare breed sheep are my own pedigree Miniature Southdowns, the commercial are the ewes in my area that produce Herefordshire Lamb. There are also many smallholders in the area with hobby alpacas and angora goats. I collect the fleece, wash and card myself, but send the top off to be spun by an industrial spinner. The main product is 50g balls of double knitting wool, with a by-product of wool felted for crafting.
