About the Company / Business

The feeling of wanting to be buried in an over crowded grave yard with hundreds of head stones is becoming less fashionable. More & more people are choosing to be buried in a peaceful woodland or meadow land, where the site is filled with nature and the birds fill the skies.

Fenns Meadow Green Burial Ground is part of Alkington Grange Farm, which has been farmed by the Blantern family for 3 generations. Previously a thriving Dairy Farm, Alkington Grange has had to move and change with the times.

Emma runs the burial ground with her husband James. " At present we sell plots for individuals to buy to enable them to have a Green/Natural burial or to bury cremated remains. This means being buried within a biodegradable coffin/urn made from such materials as bamboo, wicker or even card board. There are no head stones placed on the grave, just a tiny marker. An individual can plant a tree within the farm itself"

The meadow land itself looks out across the Welsh and Shropshire Hills, in a westerly direction, so you can watch the sunset over the fields. Its a very peaceful location with a pond situated over looking the burial area itself, where you can sit and take in the environment.
