Journey to Success, Get Excited!

The magic of change is to embrace it, see it as an exciting time when you are given the chance to be different.

If you view life as a straight line, plan for the ‘normal’ eventualities and fear any variation on that, how are you likely to feel when imposed, unexpected change occurs?

Imagine this.  Look at your life as a path (not original, I know), try to visualise it, draw a picture of it in your minds eye, feel how it is, listen for the sounds you hear along your journey.

Ø      Make your path wide, so wide you can not see the edges

Ø      Visualise bright light surrounding your path

Ø      Fill your path with passion for what you desire

Ø      Let your mind play, what is out there?

Ø      Now – put some rivers, mountains, storms, fallen trees, deep snow, mountainous seas and the unknown in your path.

Not what you expected?  Well that’s life.

I used the words ‘passion’ and ‘desire’ in the instructions for a reason.  These two elements of life are what drive us to do things.  It is said that people will change and take action out of ‘inspiration’ or ‘desperation’, I believe this is true.

If you have a desire on your path and feel genuine passion about it, want it so badly it hurts then do you agree that you will try anything to overcome the obstacles that may get in the way. Climb the mountains, get through that river, weather the storm, move those fallen trees, sail the seas and welcome the unexpected.

When these obstacles present GET EXCITED – switch your mind into solution mode and ask yourself questions you have never asked yourself before – you will get different answers.

Do not use the word BUT when you play around with this, it will limit your brain and you will not explore all possibilities.

The present times are presenting many obstacles for people and business is no exception.  However, at my networking groups I am fortunate to meet many special women who are facing their obstacles, seeking new solutions, using the strength of their contacts to brain storm issues and I am seeing fantastic innovation.

Why not brain storm solutions at your next WIRE meeting, you may be surprised at the results.  Remember no BUTS!

Warmest Regards

Julie Foster

Open learning in Cheshire

Friday, April 9th, 2010

Let us introduce you to our Cheshire WiRE Network. Our voluteer Network Leader Anne Draper started the network from scratch in 2006 and ran it for 2 years then stepped down to give someone else a go.  Hilary Belshaw of Henhouse Productions took over the helm for 12 months, and the group made it onto YouTube. Anne is now back leading the group and this time she has the support of Helen Tandy and Jean Stainthorpe.

The group meet every other month and change venue each time and moving around the county.  They also change the day their meetings are held each time so that members can find a meeting that’s convenient for them.   Meetings have been held at a vets, a car showroom, Reaseheath College and various members’ businesses.

The group have regularly had a stand at the Nantwich Show (except the year when it was rained off) and they even won an award for their stand in their first year. The group are planning to attend again this year.

” Members are highly supportive, and open to putting themselves out for others- it’s not about selling. We all go to the meetings open to learning from each other. We are all ‘one woman bands’ and therefore often isolated in our businesses,”  says Anne. Compare to other network meetings locally the WiRE meeting is also low cost, attendees only pay towards the cost of coffeee and biscuits.

Cheshire members are now embracing social networking after two recent meetings have been themed on this (as the topic is so big) and to prove it you can now follow the Cheshire WiRE network on Facebook.
