Sconch Textiles is the passion and brain child of Sam Conway our newest maker on Suffolk Made.  Sam makes handmade items for you and your home made lovingly from cotton, up cycled materials and wool, there is something for everyone.

I met Sam in darkest, deepest Suffolk at a Christmas craft fair.    I knew immediately that her work would be perfect for Suffolk Made and that you would love what she does.

As we talked I watched Sam crochet an item into existence in front of my eyes.  Sam clearly just loves to make and it is an enviable skill.  To be able to use your hands to turn the most basic of ingredients (wool), with the simplist of tools (one crochet hook), into not only functional but fashionable clothing is a wonder.

It looks so easy, but if any of you have tried to crochet, it may look simple but to create something both practical and beautiful is quite an art!  My daughter has already put in a request for one (oh the strength of pester power) and I know she will look impossibly cute in it, so expect an order from me soon Sam!

Sam creates a lovely range of items; a short scarf more like a muffler and the classic long scarf and two styles of Beanie hat, a ruffled beanie (pictured in pink) and a straight one (pictured in Chocolate Brown).  Each beanie hat has that finishing detail which lifts it from the ordinary. Sam has even created a baby range of hats especially for the 0-6 months. I know you will appreciate their simple and elegant style.

Sam will shortly be increasing her range of goods and products on Suffolk Made we are really pleased that we will be promoting her fabric door stops, draught exclude-rs and cushions soon.
